If You Seek Navy

First, the title is completely stolen from my bestie’s kickball team. It was too appropriate for this post. I had to steal it. So, hat tip, Chris Turk.

I finally have done what I have wanted to do for quite some time. Years, actually. I dyed my hair navy. It’s a little out of character for me but I wanted a change. I figured the summer was the right time to do it.

It also seems appropriate to write a post about how I style my hair and what products I currently am using. Here we go…

STEP 1: TRESemmé Climate Control Mousse

I choose to use TRESemmé Climate Control Mousse because it has keratin. My hair is wavy and this mousse helps to maintain a more slick, straight look I want my coiff to uphold.

I run the mousse through my hair in the style I want my hair to look. I don’t care about it being perfect at the moment. This is just to get my hair ready for styling.

I then blow dry my hair until it pretty much dry. Because of the mousse, my hair is textured and easier to style going forward.

STEP 2: Mister Pompadour Peppermint Pomade

Grab a glob of Mister Pompadour Peppermint Pomade.

Now, this is where the styling begins. I run the glob of Mister Pompadour Peppermint Pomade through my hair. Not yet on perfect styling but getting the first layer of product.

STEP 3: Garnier Fructis Style Volumizing Anti-Humidity Hairspray, Extra Strong 3

I spray Garnier Fructis Style Volumizing Anti-Humidity Hairspray throughout my hair. Just enough so it will hold my hair into place. It’s not a hard spray so my hair is still soft to the touch even though it looks in place.

Now it’s time to style with a brush. Push back and to the side until it’s the exact way you like it.

Then I put the blow dryer on low and dry the roots and the top. I dry the roots so the hair stays in place. When I dry the top, I make sure I’m EXTREMELY careful so the blow dryer doesn’t ruin the structure. I use my hand to guide the low heat.

And voila! My hair is #selfie ready.
